After living through World War I and seeing what his German
homeland was turning into, Andreas immigrated to the United
States. In Europe, he was famous for "still life,"
countryside, and portraits. He had fled Europe with a
collection of his art, so he was able to have a successful
show upon arrival. With the proceeds, he relocated to Los
Angeles. His early commissions came from developers,
architects, and travel magazine covers.
